First of all I would like to agree with the title of my essay that “there is no hope of doing perfect research”. After it I would like to share my ideas about research. Now the question arises that what is mean by research, and from where it is derived. So the meaning of research is ‘to search again’. And this word of research has evolved from the French utterance Recherché, or Recherchér, which means ‘to search closely’.
In other words we can also call it a “scientific inquiry”. It is, therefore, search for knowledge or any other systematic investigation to find out the facts. In a research work a researcher studying a subject very carefully, and the main purpose of the researcher for this careful study is to discover new facts or information about it.
Here another question arises that why are people doing research? Now to answer this question, the answer will varies from person to person. In fact the actual and real research work is the most important part of invention, and we know that behind every invention there is an element of necessity. As we know that every person has his or her own unique needs and goals. And for fulfilling these needs and goals, people do research.
It is, therefore, man is always interested in exploring the universe and the laws governing the systems in it. To the earlier man there were innumerable mysties to be explained. The man therefore switched on his researches and has explained uncountable mysties. Research thus becomes a human occupation since time immemorial. Now those people or researchers who achieve their goals they call the research “a successful research”, and if they fail to do so, they stop their further inquiry and say, “There is no hope of doing perfect research”, which is also the title of my assigned essay.Research in the antediluvian days and in the pre-historic era was not a difficult job, because whatever one tried to explore, which had not been explored earlier, was an exploration, and his work was an exploration. The striking difference between that research and the research of today is that the former was predominantly not academic like the later one. The present research because of being academic and documented has numerous edges over its predecessor works. So many research theses in the contemporary regime are becoming theories and even laws owing to their rampant global approval.
Now I would like to explain it further, that there are two types of research, the 1st one is called “Basic research”, and the 2nd one is called “Scientific Research”.Both of these types of research could be deductive or inductive. Deductive research is based on logic. Logic, in turn, is based on human mind, which is prone to error. Hence, error is an integral part of research, and, therefore, no research is perfect.
Inductive research is based upon experiments. Experiments are a process of trial and error. Without errors there is no experiment which can be proved right. So again error is the ingredient of research.
The man of today undergoes research on whatever mystey encircles his psyche or retards his progress in what ever walk of life and make his way out of the predicaments at hand. The quality as well as the quantity of research over the years has improved impressively in not only the developed world but also in the developing and underdeveloped one. But is there any research conducted anywhere by anyone of the institutions, academies or an intellectuals at any period of time to be qualified the perfect one? The answer beyond any doubt is a very big no.
The main reason of it is that most of the people want to access that data that is easily available to them. They prefer plagiarism, and therefore, they are far apart from the research work. As we can see that in these days there will be a large number of peoples who are involved in the research work, but it can’t be trust worthy. The researchers need to do hard work, like the former researchers. There research work will only be admissible if they do it practically, and they avoid the plagiarism. They need to give more time to their research work, concentrate only on their work, and avoid all those materials that can be traced to plagiarism. After it their work will be of high standard, and would be acceptable internationally.
For a research work to be perfect it must have some qualities. It must, for instance, should convince all the parties concerned and should answer all the objections raised after conclusion. In addition, the approach of conclusion should be also deductive i.e. deriving conclusions from general principles and not from individual phenomena. The perfect research by far need to also satisfy all the faculties of human senses as well as philosophical quarries provoked by a research A bird eye view of the reaches conducted so for will reveal in glance that neither of these woks have all the requisites.
Darwin (1809 -1892) was a renowned English biologist- when the presented his famous theory of revolution in his book “the origin of species on natural selection”1859, he explained that all the species have the same parents. The ideal not withstanding all the merits is not acceptable to the Muslim Ummah as a whole because of being contradictory to the injunctions of Islam. Besides, he has written that only the fittest will survives in the struggle for existence. Such a struggle is not imminent in the Muslim population due to the teaching of fraternity, cooperation and philanthropy by Islam. Lawmark advocated his theory evolution in1809 and mentioned the transfer of newly acquired characters to the offspring. But as a matter of reality all the developments acquired by an individual (for example a hole boarded in nose) are not transmitted to the offspring.
These two examples testify that even the high-profile researches are still for beyond from qualifying as being perfect. And that too notwithstanding the availability of modern technologies, governmental and institutional backing, presence of earlier works (in black and white) and a zeal for carrying out a research to satisfy all stakeholders. But still “there is no hope of doing a perfect research”.
